I am informed John Smith of Carlton by order of Sessions had a Penc[i]on of fower pounds per annu[m] for his service in the late warr, and in order to the continuance of it, I doe certify upon my owne knowledge, that he was imployed as a Scout & Footpost, and did performe his duty very honestly, in relation to the service of the King & his party in and about the County of North[amp]ton[shire], and being taken by the enemy, was wounded, and imprisoned neere fowerteene moneths, wherefore I recom[m]end him to yo[u]r considerac[i]on, and remayne
