To the Right Wor[shi]f[u]l his M[ajes]ties Justices of the Peace for the County of North[amp]ton[shire]

Wee Inhabitants of Whishton in the said County humbly Certify; That John Harris now of Cooknoe in the County afores[ai]d was pres’d for a souldier from Whiston afores[ai]d to serve his martyr’d M[ajes]tie, of blessed memory in his last Expedico[n] for Scotland, & so continu’d till that Campaign was disbanded.

Wee whose names are vnderwritten doe certify & are ready to attest That John Harris of Cooknoe afores[ai]d serv’d his M[ajes]tie in the nature of a souldier at Banbury Castle vnder the Comand of the Hon[oura]ble S[i]r Will[iam] Compton, & there continu’d till the Castle was surrendered, & then w[i]th other his fellow souldiers, shifted as he could.
