Wee whose names are vnderwritten do [illegible] of our owne [illegible] knowledge testify to the right wor[shi]pfull Bench yt John Eyres of Winterslow in this County of Wilts[hire] your Worshipps poore Petitioner; was a souldier vnder ye conduct of S[i]r George Vaughan in his owne troope during ye whole tyme of ye late vnhappy wars in w[hi]ch seruice he behaued himselfe stoutley & faithfully and now being throughe old age vnable to worke in his calling; and throughe pouerty disabled to manage his trade; wee humbly conceiue hym an object of your charity; & yt he may obteyne a Pension by y[ou]r Worships fauour to support hym in his want; and herevnto wee readyly set our hands as witnesses of his loyalty & fidelity this 12 day of Nouemb[er] 1665
