These are to sertifie to all whom these presents may or shall Concerne that the Bearer hearof John Bellsham serued his Late Magestie Kinge Charles the first of euer Blessed memorie in ye Late warres as a priuate trooper vnder ye Comand of ye Lord of Loughborough in ye Regement of Coll[onel] Bale and in his owne troope: wearin hee Behaued himselfe siuily and faithfuly to ye trust in him Reposed, and neuer in ye Least adheared to ye Contrarie partie in testimony heareof wee haue heareunto sab[s]ribed ower hands and seales this present 15th day of Sept[ember] one thousand six hundred sixtie and two
