These are to certifye that the bearer hereof John Barnes served his late Ma[jes]tie King Charles the first in my Troop in ye Regiment of ye Right Hon[oura]ble ye Earle of Northampton wherein hee behaved himselfe valiantly & faithfully dureing the warr. In testimony whereof I herevnto set my hand this 21th day of April 1662.
