To ye Right wor[shipfu]ll ye kings Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of ye peace for the County of Denbigh.

These are to certify you that there bearer hereof Jo[hn] ap Jo[h]n ap Harry of ye p[ar]ish of Llanroost hath very faithfully served his late Ma[jes]tie King <Charles> ye first of blessed memory in the late vnhappy warres in ye Regim[en]t of Coll[onel] Hugh Wynne & vnder my Comaund & in that service hath much impaired his health & is not now able to maintayne himselfe as form[er]ly & that he hath exposed himselfe to ye vttermost hazard of his life, losse of his limbes limbes & vtter ruine of his fortune & for his subsistence & reliefe there is not yet any competent p[ro]vision made, And that he is an objecte of charity as wittnes my hand this tenth daie of Julii in ye 15th yeare of his Ma[jes]t[y]s Raigne &c. 1663:
