These are to certify whome it may concerne That Jo[h]n ap Jo[h]n ap Evan of the parish of Bettus in the County of Denbigh yeom[an], did truely & faithfully serve his late Ma[jes]ty kyng Charls the first (of famous memory) in the late vnhappy warrs (wherein he rec[eive]d seu[er]all woundes & bruises) in the Regiment of Col[one]l Hugh Wynne & in my company, & eu[er] since continued loyall to his s[ai]d Ma[jes]ty and his Ma[jes]ty that now is, & never deserted theire s[ai]d Ma[jes]tys services, as wittnesse my hand this 12th day of July 1679.
