Gentlemen,

being informed by some Officers of the Army that the widow Jackman of the Deuies [sic.] in the County of Wilts[hire] (late wife of John Jackman who was a Chirurgeon in my Regim[en]t in Ireland & dyed in that service) is through losse of her said Husband reduced to a verie low Condic[i]on, haveing a greate charge of Children; I desire you therefore that you will allow some penc[i]on to the said widow for the releife & maintenance of her selfe and children, which as it wil be an act of much Charity to the widow & Fatherles so it will also much obleige
