These are to certefie all whome it doth or may concerne that the bearer heereof James Long of Ansty was A souldier in his Late Ma[jes]ti[e]s seruice (of euer Blessed memory) and vnder my commaund in Col[one]l Giles Strang=wayes Regement, and behaued himselfe during the time very faythfully and ciuilly, in witnesse whereof I haue herevnto set my hand ye 22th of Octob[er] 1661
