To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll the Kings Ma[jes]ties Justices of Peace for the County aforesaid.

These are to certifie that Hugh Calcott of the Towne of Lyons al[ia]s Hoult in the said County Labourer was a foote Soldier vnder my Comaund att the Castle of Hoult aforesaid Dureing the time of the Late vnhappie warr, and that hee was & is truely Loyall, and now is indigent, and hath never (to the best of my knowledge or informac[i]on) deserted his Ma[jes]ties or his blessed fathers service, And that hee hath not a Sufficient Livelyhood of his owne nor hath since his Ma[jes]ties returne obtayned any compensac[i]on or imploym[en]t towards his Maintenance. Wherefore I doe hereby recom[m]end him as a p[er]son fitt to receiue such an yearly penc[i]on from his Ma[jes]ties Treasurers for this County as yow shall thinke meet to order and appoint. Given vnder my hand and seale the third day of October Anno Dom[ini] 1664:
