These are to Certifie to all whome it maie Concerne That the bearer hereof Captaine John Buckerfeild was in Actuall service as Captaine to a foote Company w[i]thin the Regiment late vnder the Command of Collonell Adam Cunningham and nowe of mee Collonell Richard Fortescue from the fifteenth of Aprill 1644 vntill the 4th of February followeing that in the fight at Cullombridge hee was slayne, during all w[hi]ch tyme hee behaued himself faithfully and gallantly like a souldier dated the Tenth of December 1645.
