To all p[ers]ons to whome it may concerne

These are to certify that the bearer hereof Henry Merton of Llandrillo in the County of Denbigh yoeman did serve as a soldier vnder in  the Company of Capten Henry Vaughan deceased in the Regim[en]t of Col[one]l Norris for the space of two yeares and vpwards in the late warr for his late Ma[jes]ty king Charles the first of blessed memory and that hee hath not since deserted his sayd Ma[jes]tys service but allwayes behaved himself constant and faithfull to in the service of his sayd late Ma[jes]ty and of o[u]r sou[er]aigne lord the king that now is, and wee certify further that hee is very poore and indigent haueing many children. Dated the [blank] day of August 1662.
