To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]t[ie]s Justices of peace assembled at the generall Sessions houlden at Derby [several illegible words]

These are to certify you that Anthony Hoades late husband to the Bearer hereof Hellen Hoades of Wirkesworth being sent for, as a pionere to Wingfeild Mannour by the Parliaments Commande for the vndermineing of the sayd Mannour house in August 1644 was there vnhappily shott to death leaueing behinde him his sayd Wife and sixe smalle children. Wittnes my hand the 26th day of Aprill 1647.
