The Bearer hereof Grygory Edmonds of Tavistocke haueing beene a faithfull & stoute man in his late Ma[jes]ties service and still continued loyall, I humbly recommend him to yo[u]r Hono[u]rs Considerac[i]on earnestly desiring an augmentacon of the yearely pension heretofore paid him (beeing very little for such an object of pitty) for by the diverse dangerous shotts receiued by him him [sic.] in the said service and other his Sufferings, hee appeares to bee now maimed sickly, very poore and disabled in body for worke to provide for himselfe and chargable family, This I cannott but make bold to beeseech you (S[i]r) seriously, to consider, and to Increase his Pension, w[hi]ch will nott onely bee a worke of Charity, but alsoe a great obligac[i]on on
