Wee the gentlemen, Free houlders and inhabittants of the p[ar]ishe of Llanvaire Dyffrincloyd, doe make bould to Certifie yo[u]r wo[rshi]pps vnder our hands on the p[ar]te and behaulf of Griffith Davies That the said Griffith Davies was a presse souldier for Scottland out of our p[ar]ishe and was a souldier vnder the right ho[noura]ble S[i]r Thomas Saulsbury and was wounded att the battle att Edge hill and was eu[er] a faythfull subiect to his late Ma[jes]tie, and his Ma[jes]tie That nowe is, w[i]thout revoultinge And by reason of his wounds, Adge and pou[er]ty is dissabled to gett his liveinge, All this wee make bould to Certifie vnder our hands And take leave and rest
