Wee whose names are subscribed Inhabitants of the parrish of Holne in the Countie of Deuon, doe hereby Certifie your worshipps that the bearer hereof George Mynard your poore petitioner was A Souldier in the Armie For king Chareles the first of Blessed memory, and Came down with the Armie and went with them into Cornwall where they were forced to Lay downe theire Armes &c and in his Returne backe into our parrish beeing wounded in the head hee after was there Married with one of our parrish wheare hee hath Euer since remayned Labouring honestly in his Calling and beehaueing himselfe very Ciuilly and honestly toward all his Neighbours &c but now by reason of his age and weakenesse of Bodie is not Abell to Labour as formerly nor gett his Maintainance, hath desired this our Certificate hopeing that your wor[shi]pp will take his deplored Condition into your Serious Consideration, and wee shall Euer remayne your worshipps Thankfull seruants &c
