The certificate for George Knight of Taunton, Somerset, 7 March 1661

To the ho[noura]ble Justices of Peace for the County of Som[er]sett att theire Session att Ivelchester
John Willis of Rodhuish within the parish of Carhampton in the said County of Somersett Carpenter w[i]th others Inhabitinge in the said Countie doth Certifye and declare That George Knight of Taunton in the sayd County Carpenter was by and duringe the space of Eighteene Moneths or thereabouts vnder the Conduct of Henry Winter Captain of a foote company in the Regiment of S[i]r John Stawell Knight Vnto w[hi]ch Captaine, the said John Willis all that tyme, was an Ensigne, And att the stormeinge, & takinge, the Wyndmill fort of Bristoll scythence called the Royall Fort (for the late Kinge Charles (deceased) of ever famous memory) The sayd George Knight was there very much wounded, And is vnto this pr[e]sent tyme by that loyall service lamed As Witnes his hand the seaventh day of March in the Thirteenth yeare of his Ma[jes]ties Raigne Annoqu[e] D[o]m[ini] 1660.
