The certificate for George Adshead of Stockport, Cheshire, 2 February 1664

To the Hono[u]r[a]ble the Justices of Peace of the Countie Palatine of Chester
These are to certifye that George Adshead the Bearrer hereof was a soldier vnder my Command in the Regim[en]t of Sir Edward Fitton and was as it may appeare Greevously wounded in the said service and hath never to the vttermost of my knowledge or Informac[i]on deserted his Ma[jes]ties or his blessed fathers service duringe the Late tymes of Rebellion and vsurpac[i]on and that hee hath not a sufficient Livelihood of his owne wherefore I doe hereby make bould to recommend him as a fitt p[er]son to receive a p[ro]porc[i]on of such moneys as are by you to bee distributed to Prisoneres [sic.] and Maimed Soldiers witnesse my hand
