These are to certifie yo[u]r wo[rshi]pps that Foulke Piers of Botegwall in the County of Denbigh yeom[an] is a truely loyall and an indigent soldier and hath ever bin truely faythfull & honest to the late kings Ma[jes]tie and did was in the late warrs a Trooper in Co Liftenant Co[lone]ll Holmes his troope in S[i]r Thomas Lucas his Regiment being entertayned at Abergeley in the county of Denbigh aforesayd and hath very much suffred by the late vnhappy distracc[i]ons and in soe much that he is not able to subsist having bin beaten & wounded in the late warres and thereby disabled to worke for his living, his eyes dymmed & his hearing very much ympayred And therefore conceiving him a fitt obiect to be recomended to yo[u]r wo[rshi]pps Considerac[i]on desireing he may be admitted a pensioner as a maymed Soldier and to haue an allowance towards his subsistance All w[hi]ch (att his humble request) wee make bold to certifie yo[u]r wor[shi]pps.
