The certificate for Evan Foulke of Llanelidan, Denbighshire, 22 June 1664

To all whom these presents may Concerne.
I vnder written of late Captaine of a foot Companie in an English Regem[en]t in France vnder the Com[m]aund, first of S[i]r Thomas Rokeby, and afterwards of the Earle of Broglia: doe certifie that the bearer hereof Euan Foulk hath heretofore serued his sacred Ma[jes]tie of blessed memorie till being taken prisoner in the yeare of our Lord 1645 and brought to London, where he suffering very much, was forced w[i]th my selfe and others to goe over into the French kings seruice where he hath euer since remained for the most part serueing me either as a seruant or souldier behaueing himselfe very iustly, honestly and faithfully and soe I hope any honest man that shall haue any occasion to imploy him in any kinde of [illegible] service shall allwayes finde him. to the truth of all w[hi]ch in the word of an honest man I sett to my hand (being in London at present) this 22th of June in the yeare of o[u]r Lord 1664
