The certificate for Evan Fowlke of Llanelidan, Denbighshire 11 July 1665

I vnder written of late leiuftenant to Captaine Richard Vaughan in my Lords Gerrards Regiment doeth certifie that Evan Fowlke hath served his majesty of blessed memory three yeares & more and was shott in the thigh att the takinge in of Lester and taken with the wounded men att Nasby, and brought to Lamboth house a prisoner where he sufferinge very much was forced to goe ouer to the French Kinges seruice wher he hath euer since serued as a souldier faithfully & honestly and now returning to his Countrey very poor desires to be admitted amongst the maymed souldiers to this of his seruice I putt my hande ye 11 of July 1655 [sic.]
