<Theis> are to Certifie all whom It doth or may concerne, that John Wetherall, a Souldier in the Troope of Capt[ain] Benjamine Burges in the Reg[i]m[en]t of Col[one]l Thomas Horton: was most Barbarously and cruelly Murthered by a partie of bloody inhumane wretches, that lay stalkinge about the Mountaines in Cardiganshyre in South wales, att that time when S[i]r Henry Lingen was taken, and his forces routed, in Mongomryshyre: And further to certifie that the sayd John Wetherall euer since the time of his first <beinge> enlisted, in the sayd Troope, behaued himself uery ciuilly, was uery constant uppon all dutyes, and in all things demeaned himself, as became a good souldier: Herby humbly desyringe all those in whose hands the Lord hath put wherwithall to helpe to take his faythfull seruice into consideration, and to extend their bowells of Compassion to his poore widdow, & Orphan: and Thus much is certified and most humbly desyred: By:
