I hereby certify that John Clarke L[ieutenan]t to Major Husbands his troope of my reg[imen]t haveing behaved himself upon all occasions faithfully & valiantly dureing these warres was wounded w at the ingagem[en]t neare Deale in Kent when ye Prince landed his forces upon w[hi]ch wound hee is since dead. Dated November 15 1648.
