To ye Right wor[shipfu]ll ye kyngs Ma[jes]tys Justices of the peace for the County of Denbigh

These are to certifie you that ye bearer hereof Edmund Jones of bettus hath very faithfully served his late ma[jes]ty Kyng Charles ye First (of blessed memorie) in the Regim[en]t of Colonell William Wynne & vnder my Com[m]and, being his & in yt service hath much impaired his selfe health & yt he hath continued faithfull to his trust & not deserted the same by takeing vp Armes ag[ains]t his s[ai]d late Ma[jes]ty or his Ma[jes]tie yt now is or otherwise & yt there is not as yet made any competent p[ro]vision for his subsistence as witnesse my hand this 25th of Aprill 1663.
