To the Right wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of Peace in the Countie of Denbigh.

These are to certifie, that Dauid Dauies of Lyons al[ia]s Hoult in the said County was a foote soldier vnder my comand in Colonel Hugh Wynnes Regim[en]t in his late Ma[jes]ties service, and that he is truly loyall & indigent, and hath never to the best of my knowlege or information defected his Ma[jes]t[y]s or his blessed fath[e]rs service dureing the late tymes of Rebellion and vsurpac[i]on, and that he hath not a sufficient livelyhood of his owne, nor hath since his Ma[jes]t[y]s returne, obtayned any reward sufficient of a livelyhood for himselfe his wife and children; wherefore I p[re]sume to recom[m]end him as a p[er]son fit to receive such an yearely pention out of his ma[jes]ties tresurie of this County as yo[u]r wor[shi]ps shall thincke fitting; wittnes my hand & seale the Nyneth day of July An[n]o [illegible] Dom[ini] [illegible] Car[olus] S[e]c[un]di dei grat[ia] Anglie &c. xvi to. Anno Dom[ini] 1664.
