The certificate for Christopher Coles of Chippenham, Wiltshire, 23 March 1648

These are to Certify all whom it may Concerne, That this bearer Christopher Coles was a Souldier vnder my Command in the Regim[en]t of Col[onel] Nathaniel Fiennes in the Garrison of Bristoll & from thence was drawne out, & was vpon service in S[i]r William Wallers Army where hee demeaned himselfe faithfully & valiantly as it becomes a Souldier; & his Father being a Souldier vnder the same Command was slaine at the Fight at Roundway hill in the County of Wilts[hire]; In witnes whereof I have herevnto set my hand this 23th day of March 1647.

<This Souldier Christopher Coles was discharged From the Armey the 11 of this p[re]sent he is a maymed man hauing lost the vse of his right hand>
