It was my Lord Protectors pleasure to write to ye Justices of Peace for this County whilest hee was in Scotland to provide for the widdowes of three Cheshire souldiers vnder Col[one]l Daniell that were lately slaine or dead their in ye States service, William Parker ye husband of this bearer widdowe Anne Parker of Lostock Granum neare Northwich was one of ye foresaid souldiers, whose wife with foure of her Children are in very great distresse and ready to starue as I heare, and I know not what is become of his Highnes letter touching this busines I desire theirfore you will comiserate the condition of the said widdowe and her foure Children soe as to affoard them some speedy releife soe I conclude and remaine yo[u]r humble servant
